Video: Donald and Kuchar looking forward to French Open

Players look ahead to the Open de France, which will be held at Le Golf National in Paris from Thursday (July 4th).

Luke Donald:“My second time here. I came three years ago and, you know, really did enjoy it. I think it’s probably one of the better courses we play all year. I think it’s, a great mixture of some shorter holes. They give you some opportunity, but a lot of risk/reward too. Some holes where you really have to stand up and hit great shots, and…. usually plays firm and fast, which is good preparation for the Open and I think it’s just one of those great courses that we get to play each year.”

Matt Kuchar (on playing the Open de France):“It’s actually one I’ve been thinking about for years. I always thought if I had a big exemption on the PGA Tour I may come try to play the European Tour for a year and experience things. Now with kids, that thought process has changed and I kind of cherrypick a few events that I’d really like to play and French Open is one that is on my list. I’d never been to France before. Heard great things about this course. When I talked to other players everybody raved about this golf course. This was one as well, getting ready for the British Open, you get to come over here early, kind of get acclimatised, get used to the time change and I’ll head over to play some links golf course, kind of middle of next week, end of next week. So there were a lot of positives for coming here. And then getting on this course, this course really is fantastic.”
