Reaction following the first round of the 2013 Open de France in Paris on Thursday.
Anders Hansen, Denmark:“I played really solid from tee-to-green. I missed only two or three greens and I putted quite well so it just kind of all came together. At some states it seemed too easy but…you know, this course gets your attention and the next thing you know you are making a bogey so that’s tough.”
“Yeah I mean, the last four holes are difficult. Very very difficult. 17 and 18 are very very long par fours and you have got 16, a tricky little par three and you have got 15..that is a pretty tricky green out there.”
Romain Wattel, France:“Yeah, everything under-par is a good score on this course. That is a real tough course and even in front of the French crowd that is special thing. That was a really good run for me. The putting was definitely the key for me today because I made some really good putts.”
Stephen Gallacher, Scotland:“Yeah, I started great. I played good all day to be honest. Just hit two poor shots at the end and yeah, no…I played good. I played nice. Hit a lot of good shots on the right side of the flags and my distance control was brilliant today. I gave myself lots of chances so I’m looking forward to the weekend.”
Martin Kaymer, Germany:“Good. I hit a lot of good shots today, a lot of fairways, a lot of greens which was fantastic – even in the afternoon so there is no reason to find anything on the golf course that might reflect a bad round. The golf course plays pretty perfect and it was pretty nice to play. I had a good group, really enjoyable to play with so there was nothing bad about that day.”
