Players’ reaction following Friday’s second round of the BMW International Open at Golfclub Muenchen Eichenried in Germany.
Ernie Els, leader after second round:
“Well, I’m quite fortunate to be where I am. I didn’t quite play as good as I did yesterday, obviously. But I felt I fought hard for a score today… and satisfied with that.”
“Yeah, it was a terrible mistake on seven – you know, tried to hit it over the little creek with my drive and I made a mess of it, made double bogey there. And then I made another mess of number sixteen. Other than that, you know, I played quite nicely.”
Martin Kaymer, Germany:
“Yeah, it was tougher than yesterday – you know, the pins they were tucked a little bit more in the corners, therefore you couldn’t go for every flag, you have to play a little bit more conservative than yesterday – and unfortunately I didn’t make as many putts as yesterday… and that easily can cost you a few shots.”
