WATCH: Ian Poulter makes fan fall into a bunker at LIV Golf UK

Ian Poulter sits tied for 39th place at the 2024 LIV Golf Invitational, which is taking place in the United Kingdom. Following an opening round score of one over par 72, the former PGA Tour star is even par for the day with 12 holes left to be played.

On the JCB Golf and Country Club's par three ninth hole, Poulter threw his ball towards the crowd of spectators after carding in a par. Several people tried to catch the golf ball and even went as far as to knock down the fence. In an attempt to try and catch the golf ball, a fan accidentally fell into the left greenside bunker. This left the crowd and the LIV Golf player chuckling.

Ian Poulter's LIV Golf record explored

Ian Poutler bid farewell to the PGA Tour in 2022 to join the LIV Golf league as co-captain of the Majesticks GC. During the inaugural season of the Saudi-backed league, the Englishman placed 31st on the individual rankings with only 16 points earned in seven events played.

Poulter went on to play 13 out of 14 events in 2023 and placed 34th with a mere 22 points. He sits right on the edge of the lock zone with a 45th place ranking this year.

The 48-year-old has played in ten events so far this year and has earned a total of 9.22 points. Poulter has failed to earn any points in eight of the events played.

About the author
