WATCH: Shane Lowry putts from 57 feet away to land an eagle during round 3 of the 2024 FedEx St. Jude Championship

Shane Lowry is currently competing in the 2024 FedEx St. Jude Championship at TPC Southwind in Memphis. The field has the top 70 golfers from the season-long FedEx Cup standings, and only the top 50 after this week will proceed to the BMW Championship.

The Irish golfer hasn't looked like a favorite to win this week. But Lowry has played some impressive shots and shown glimpses of his caliber. During the third round, he drained an enormous putt of 57 feet and carded his second eagle of the tournament.

Shane Lowry started his round on the back nine and stood on the par-5 16th tee with a pin position on the back half of the green. He reached the green in two strokes and had around 57 feet of putt left for an eagle. There wasn't much undulation, but he had to judge the upslope and pace the putt to perfection.

Shane Lowry did exactly that and registered his second eagle of the 2024 FedEx St. Jude Championship. He got his score under par once again before carding a bogey on the next hole to get his score back to -2.

After round two, Lowry was -2 for the event and started his weekend with a birdie. Unfortunately, he couldn't maintain the momentum and scored two bogeys on holes 12 and 14 before carding an eagle on the 16th.

Shane Lowry eventually finished his first nine holes with even par for the day and maintained his score of -2. He still has around 27 holes remaining to accumulate as many points as possible, as only the top 30 golfers after the BMW Championship will make it to the finale, The Tour Championship.

Shane Lowry is currently ranked 10th in the FedEx Cup rankings and will more or less reach the Tour Championship without many complications.
