Charley Hull has mentioned on a few occasions that she is a boxing fan. The golf shared her admiration for Jaime Munguia and boxing in an interview with YouTube channel Little Giant Boxing. This interview was published April 25, 2024, shortly before Munguia's bout with Canelo Alvarez, which took place on May 4, 2024.
During the conversation, Hull mentioned that Munguia was her favorite to win the match. Munguia was undefeated at the time, so Hull backed him up against Alvarez in a super middleweight championship clash.
Charley Hull stated in the interview:
"Well, I think everyone knows who I came here to see. But it was pretty cool, you know. Literally, in the boxing gym. And he's won how many? 44 fights? Not lost, so I think that's pretty impressive."
When asked who would win between the two boxers, Hull stated:
"Well, the thing is, Canelo is very... I don't want to say too much, but you know what I mean? Yeah, he's pretty unbelievable, but it'd be great, you know, to see the other one getting on well. But yeah, it'll be a good fight to watch... Now I've seen him in person, I'm definitely going to be definitely rooting for him."
Ultimately, it was Alvarez who won the fight with a unanimous decision win. Meanwhile, in the same interview, Charley Hull named Tyson Fury, Billy Joe Saunders, Sugar Ray Lennon, and Joe Calzaghe as her all-time favourite boxers.
Charley Hull once equated trash talk in golf to boxing

Charley Hull conducted an interview with the Telegraph in August 2024. She discussed a variety of topics, one of which was the trash talk between players on the golf course. Hull drew comparisons between golf and boxing when it comes to trash talk.
However, after making this assertion, Hull claimed that, other than Brooks Koepka, there aren't many good trash talkers in golf. Hull remarked that Koepka is somewhat excellent at this type of thing, and that it occasionally even helps his game.
Charley Hull stated:
"It’s a bit like boxers. Have you ever seen boxers in their fights and stuff? I know they probably go too far sometimes with the trash talking, but you’re getting people to listen, and they do silly things, but it gets people talking and watching the fights."
She continued:
"I don’t feel like golf has got that, but with Brooks Koepka I feel like he’s probably the one most like that. And he’s got a good golf swing!"
Meanwhile, Hull will have her sights set on clinching her first major in golf at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship, scheduled for later this month.
