Tiger Woods is a golfing legend. However, the ace golfer has struggled with injuries over the past few years. The 47-year-old's last major triumph came in 2019 when he ended an 11-year drought by winning the Masters.

Woods, who has been sidelined for nearly a decade owing to well-documented personal issues and injury woes, made a strong comeback in 2019.

The golfer made a great charge and beat the likes of Xander Schauffele, Dustin Johnson, and Brooks Koepka to win the Green Jacket that year. With the win, the 47-year-old took his Masters tally to five. The golfer hasn’t won a major since.

Ever since the 2019 Masters win, Tiger Woods has been on the sidelines. The golfer has barely played any events in the past three years, owing to injuries sustained from his infamous car crash in 2020.

The accident that almost took one of his legs saw Woods adjust to a ‘ceremonial golfer’ post as he played only select events on the PGA Tour.

Continuing to suffer from his injury woes, Woods pulled out of the 2023 Masters on Sunday due to injuries on his right foot. The golfer announced his decision to withdraw from the tournament just ahead of Sunday’s tee-off.

Taking to his Twitter handle, Tiger Woods wrote:

“I am disappointed to have to WD this morning due to reaggravating my plantar fasciitis. Thank you to the fans and to The Masters who have shown me so much love and support. Good luck to the players today!”

The 15-time major champion had just made history at the event by making the cut. The golfer on Saturday tied the record for most consecutive cuts made at the Masters, 23. However, his injuries saw him pull out of the event with just 11 holes remaining to complete the third round.
