Anxiety is a widespread phenomenon, but a simple yet powerful technique can help you achieve a sense of calm and inner peace: tapping therapy.

This therapy has been shown to help ease anxiety symptoms and can be used concurrently with traditional medicine. Let's look at tapping techniques for anxiety relief and how they work.

Tapping is a form of self-healing that uses a series of acupressure points on the body, along with hand movements and verbal affirmations.

It has been around for centuries and has been used to treat everything from anxiety to depression to physical pain. Tapping helps you access the power within yourself, giving you the tools needed to change how you feel about any situation and even heal from physical injuries.

  1. If you're feeling stressed out, tapping can help.
  2. If your sleep is suffering and you need a better night's rest, tapping might be just what the doctor ordered.
  3. If your body aches from overworking or an injury, or if it's just plain painful to live with, tapping may make all the difference in how pain affects you.
  4. If depression has been holding on tight for too long and won't let go no matter how hard you try (or how long), tapping could help break its hold on your mind and body so that even when life gets difficult, there will be some light at the end of the tunnel.

Who should avoid tapping?

  • Those with a story of bleeding disorders, as well as those who're pregnant or breastfeeding, or have metal implants like pacemakers or joint replacements
  • People with injuries should avoid tapping. If you've recently had surgery and/or sustained an injury that requires medical attention, it's best not to tap till your doctor gives you the go-ahead.
  • Certain mental health issues may make it difficult for a person to use EFT effectively on their own. In these cases, it might be better for them to seek help from a trained practitioner instead (especially if they're experiencing severe trauma).

Tapping is performed by tapping on the body's meridian points. These are points that have been proven to help reduce stress and anxiety, as well as improve overall health.

Tapping instruments can be used for this purpose, but it's also possible to tap on yourself with your fingers if you don't have one available.

To do a tapping therapy:

  • Tap/tap rhythmically on each of the following meridian points while saying "Even though..." or thinking about a situation or person who causes you stress or anxiety (for example: "Even though my boss is always criticizing me at meetings...").
  • As you do so, feel free to say whatever comes into your mind related to the issue at hand - it doesn't matter if it makes sense - just let whatever comes out happen naturally.

Tapping is a simple and effective way to relieve stress, anxiety and physical pain. Tinkering with the body's energy system can help you sleep better, improve your relationships with others (including family members) and even release trauma or grief.

Tapping therapy is based on the idea that all emotions are connected to the body. Tapping into it helps us find relief from those emotions by releasing stored negative energy from inside. This process allows us to feel better both physically and mentally.
