While there's no official word about why his fingers look swollen, medical community members suggest that the swelling could be because of a condition called oedema or due to a variety of health issues.

King Charles’s swollen fingers and hands were first disclosed in a letter by Queen Elizabeth II to her former music teacher. In the letter, Queen Elizabeth wrote:

"The baby is very sweet, and we are enormously proud of him. He has an interesting pair of hands for a baby. They are rather large, but with fine long fingers, quite unlike mine, and certainly unlike his father’s. It will be interesting to see what they become. I still find it hard to believe I have a baby of my own!"

In 2003, Charles underwent a hernia surgery after injuring himself while laying hedges in the gardens of his estates. He has also cracked his ribs in previous years and has several scars on his body from his days of participating in different sports.

"With everything going on, it’s easy to forget he is still mourning the loss of his mother. While the world has mostly moved on, for Charles, it’s not even been a year since she died. And the Queen wasn’t just a mother; she was his mentor, his confidante, the solution to all his problems."

Reports also claim that with everything going on, Charles's health was being closely monitored and his medical team is not taking any risks. King Charles's doctors also advise him to exercise properly and take days off to get ample rest.
