Goal setting, planning, execution and attention to details are all integral part of climbing. To complete a given climb the climber needs to plan the moves and execute them while paying attention to every detail that is necessary to complete it. Problem-solving in climbing is at its best. So many times, to compete for a climb, climbers need to come up with creative and novel ideas.
