Yoga meditation is a form of meditation that uses physical poses to help you relax and focus. It combines the benefits of yoga with the benefits of meditation, which means it can help reduce stress, improve health and well-being, and find peace within yourself.

Yoga is an ancient practice originating in India over 5,000 years ago. There are many different types of yoga - Bikram (hot), Ashtanga (power), Vinyasa Flow. All forms, though, involve moving through various poses while focusing on breathing techniques or mantras (words used during meditation).

Apart from being a great exercise for the mind and body, yoga movements often serve as visual cues for staying present in each moment while practicing mindfulness (a state where one pays attention non-judgmentally).

Yoga meditation is a great way to relax, connect with yourself and reduce stress. The body needs to be in a comfortable position for this exercise so you can focus on your breathing techniques and mental techniques. Here's how you do it:

1) Breathing techniques - You should breathe through the nose while inhaling and exhaling slowly through the mouth.

Try counting till ten while breathing in this way, and hold your breath for two seconds before releasing it slowly again (inhale). Repeat this process several times till you feel calm enough to move onto physical poses or mental techniques.

2) Physical poses - When we're stressed out by something or someone makes us uncomfortable or angry, our blood pressure level increases, and heart rate becomes too fast. That's because there's too much adrenaline rushing through our body. Trying physical yoga poses might help.

3) Mental Techniques - It means using deep breathing exercises as well as positive affirmations like "I'm safe" or "Everything will be okay".

Yoga meditation helps you to:

  • Increase focus and concentration. Yoga meditation is a powerful way to improve memory and attention span, as well as reducing stress and anxiety.
  • Stay calm in stressful situations. Yoga meditation helps you stay calm when things get hectic at work or home, so that you can think clearly about what needs doing next rather than panicking about all the tasks on your plate at once!
  • Sleep better at night: It helps you relax more easily before bedtime, which leads to deeper sleep patterns at night (and less tossing and turning).

Yoga also has benefits for mental health too. Studies have shown that regular practice can reduce symptoms of depression, anxiety disorders like PTSD or OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder), and bipolar disorder.
