Henry de Bromhead reveals Newcastle target for Petit Mouchoir

Henry de Bromhead will aim to win the StanJames.com Fighting Fifth Hurdle for a second successive year after nominating Petit Mouchoir for the big race at Newcastle on November 26.

Identity Thief landed the Grade One prize 12 months ago for De Bromhead and Gigginstown House Stud in a thrilling duel with Top Notch.

This year the in-form handler will relay upon another owned horse by Gigginstown, Petit Mouchoir, who was second in Grade One company last season at Aintree and Punchestown.

He made a pleasing reappearance when third to Rashaan and Apple's Jade at Down Royal recently.

Petit Mouchoir holds an entry in the Coral Hurdle on Saturday but is set to skip that Grade Two at Ascot.

"I'd say Petit Mouchoir will go for the Fighting Fifth," said De Bromhead.

"He's been in good form since his run in Down Royal.

"He's entered at Ascot but he probably won't run there."
