Venetia Williams targets Cheltenham return for Aso

Aso could return to Cheltenham for the Caspian Caviar Gold Cup on December 10 following his fine effort at Prestbury Park last Saturday.

The Venetia Williams-trained six-year-old shaped with promise when fourth to Taquin Du Seuil in the BetVictor Gold Cup on his first start since April.

"He ran very well," Williams told at At The Races.

"You have to be pleased with what he did. He jumped very well but he met the last on an awkward stride, which made it very difficult for him.

"There's every chance he'll go back for the Caspian Caviar at Cheltenham in December."
