Filip Chytil signed a four-year contract extension with the New York Rangers.

The New York Rangers signed youngster Filip Chytil on a four-year contract extension. The announcement was made by the Rangers through their official Twitter handle on Wednesday. His contract is worth $17.75 million and will run until the 2026-27 season. The 23-year-old will receive $4.43 million as an annual salary.

Filip Chytil hails from the Kromeriz region of the Czech Republic. He began his hockey career with PSG Slin of the Czech Republic Extraliga during the 2016-17 season. During that season, Chytil played in 38 games and had eight points.

In 2017, he established himself as a top prospect. Filip Chytil was picked 21st overall by the New York Rangers in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.

He made his NHL debut for the New York Rangers during the 2017-18 season and played in nine games, recording three points in his first season. As time passed, he also improved his gameplay as a result of which Chytil became a regular member of the New York Rangers roster.

He is currently into his sixth season with the Rangers. During that span, Chytil has played in 319 games and has managed to rack up 135 points (64 goals and 71 assists).
