Airtel Rising Star 2013 - Delhi: DPS Vasant Kunj to face CRPF Public School Rohini in final

Magnificent handling and dribbling by C.R.P.F. Public School team helped them thrash G.D. Goenka Public School, Rohini 3-0 and reach the final of the Delhi leg of the Airtel Rising Stars 2013 at the Ambedkar Stadium today.

C.R.P.F. Public School showed spectacular teamwork and dominated most of the match. Ritwik scored in the 3rd minute to give his team an early lead. Mohammad Aqib extended the lead in the 9th minute, followed by Abhishek’s goal in the 31st minute to seal victory for their team.

In another semifinal match at the same ground, Delhi Public School, Vasant Kunj defeated Apeejay Public School, Noida 1-0. Rudraksh scored a brilliant goal in the 41st minute and took his team to the final against C.R.P.F. Public School, which will be held tomorrow, August 31 at 11:00 am at the Ambedkar Stadium.

More than 1,600 Under-16 footballers from more than 80 schools in Delhi participated in the Delhi leg of the Airtel Rising Stars 2013 and the three best footballers will be selected amongst them tomorrow at 1:00 pm during the prize distribution ceremony. The three young Delhi players will join the 30 best young footballers from all over the country at the national camp in Goa. From the 30 players, three footballers and a goalkeeper will be selected for the Manchester United Football School’s coaching camp.

Till now, Mukesh Kumar of C.R.P.F. Public School and Arjun Malkani of D.P.S. Vasant Vihar scored five goals each.
