Bajaj Allianz Junior Football Camp is back!

Kolkata, 3rd June 2014: Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance has launched the selection process for its annual Junior Football Camp (JFC) for the fifth consecutive year. This year, 2 talented teenagers from the East Zone will get a chance to participate in the international football camp to be held in Munich, Germany in August 2014. In addition to this, cash prizes worth Rs. 1.20 Lakhs will also be given to 6 talented kids in the Zonal Finale.

The selection process is being conducted in West Bengal and the North East for the fifth consecutive year. This activity will target over 15000 kids across 250 top schools and football clubs in nearly 100 cities in East India. In addition, Bajaj Allianz will also be conducting the selection process in Mumbai, Pune, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Delhi, Kerala, Goa, Lucknow and Bangalore. Over, 40,000 youngsters will be targeted during the selection process taking place in June and July across the country.

Last year, Anupam Sarkar from Kolkata and Ishan Borah from Guwahati had the opportunity to visit Munich, Germany to train under the coaches from FC Bayern Munich- one of the best football clubs in the world and also interact with the football players from the club.”

The Junior Football Camp is organized in association with Allianz, the official partner of FC Bayern Munich. The camp is held in Munich, Germany in August 2014 and gives teenagers from across the world between the ages of 14-16 years the opportunity to meet and train with the legendary FC Bayern Munich coaches on the club’s official training ground. They would also get a chance to attend a match at Allianz Arena, the unique football stadium and meet football stars from FC Bayern Munich like Thomas Mueller, Bastian Schweinsteiger and others.

Selection process – East Zone

The selection process will be conducted in three phases as described below.

1. School level - Trials at over 250 schools in West Bengal and North East to select the best players from each school.

2. City Finale – The shortlisted kids will take part in the city finales that will take place in various cities like Kolkata, Guwahati, Aizwal, Gangtok, Jalpaiguri, Behrampur, Burdwan and Siliguri etc across West Bengal and other states in the North East. 2 to 3 kids will be selected from the city finales who will then participate in the Zonal Finale to be held in Kolkata.

3. Zonal Finale – Selected boys from across various cities in the East will play against each other to arrive at final 2 talented kids who will represent the East Zone of India. They will join 3 others from rest of the country for the international Junior Football Camp in Germany.

4. Cash prizes – 6 other kids from the Zonal finale stand a chance to win cash prizes worth Rs.1.20 Lakhs on the basis of their performance during the activity.

At all levels, students will be tested on their football skills through matches by an eminent judge panel comprising of renowned Indian football players in respective cities.

Jury Panel – East Zone

The jury panel in East will be headed by Dipendu Biswas Indian International Football Player and Lal Kamal Bhowmick, current Indian Football star.
