India subject of discussion at International Football Arena!

Something I have seen over the last four/five years around the world at international football conferences is that Indian football, be it part of the official programme or not, is a subject which when mentioned, becomes even more discussed at these events. The 2012 International Football Arena in Zurich was no different. But there are reasons to it. IFA CEO Marcel Schmidt has a special bonding to India due to his Indian wife and in the last two years the IFA has organised three IFA round tables in New Delhi to bring together Indian and international football. The IFA round table in New Delhi was part of the opening speech of Schmidt, in which India was mentioned once more as the Sleeping Giant of world football before Dr. Raffaele Poli from the CIES Observatory in Neuchatel touched upon India in his presentation on Players Migration from West to East with India one of the markets of the future, besides China and Qatar.

Numerous people from different fields within football expressed their interest in Indian football, but couldn’t get around on what needed to be done.

India remains a difficult puzzle or riddle which hasn’t been solved yet.
