Rahal Letterman Lanigan driver Graham Rahal recently got emotional ahead of a career milestone. Rahal will be attempting his 300th IndyCar Race at the World Wide Technology Raceway on June 15th.
Graham Rahal, who is in his 19th season, is set to join an elite group of drivers when he makes his 300th career IndyCar Series start. This is a milestone that has been achieved by only 10 legends in the history of the sport. Leading the triple century pack is Scott Dixon, who will extend his all-time record to 410 starts. He’s followed by icons like Mario Andretti (407), Hélio Castroneves (395), Tony Kanaan (390), A. J. Foyt (369), Al Unser Jr. (329), Al Unser (320), Michael Andretti (317), Johnny Rutherford (315), and Will Power (310).
With this achievement, Rahal will solidify his place among the most seasoned drivers in IndyCar history. Trying to translate his feelings into words, Rahal expressed how hard it is to fathom.
“Three hundred races is hard to comprehend, if I’m honest,” said Rahal. “It feels like yesterday was the first and I don’t feel old enough to be at 300. I think back on a lot of great memories and a lot of relationships built over the years.” (via RACER)
Rahal has a total of six IndyCar wins, five poles, and 29 podium finishes since making his Champ Car debut in 2007.
Graham Rahal expresses his definition of success as he nears a career milestone

Graham Rahal, who pilots the #15 Honda-powered machine for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, is all set to make his 300th career IndyCar start at the World Wide Technology Raceway for the Bommarito Automotive Group 500 on June 15. Reflecting on this, the 36-year-old driver spoke about his remarkable streak of consecutive starts, a run that has remained unbroken since July 2010.
During a recent conversation with IndyCar reporter Eric Smith, Rahal shared his thoughts on the journey and the consistency that’s defined his career over the past decade and a half.
"Success is measured in many different ways, and when you look at wins, maybe it's not enough, but I've been fortunate to have a long career here. But hopefully there's still a ways to go," said Rahal
“Three hundred races, I think what I'm most fortunate about is to have been able to stay, knock on wood, pretty healthy through those times, and hopefully that will continue, as well,” he added
At the 109th running of the Indy 500, Graham Rahal had to bow out of the showdown after a few laps as his run came to a premature end due to a track incident. Currently, he is 15th in the NTT IndyCar Series Championship with 115 points to his credit.
