Rahal started his racing career in the early 70s before reaching the peak of his fame in the 80s. During his time in IndyCar, the American won three championships. In 1992, Rahal bought a stake in Hogan Racing while still racing for the team. The team is currently known as Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing following David Letterman’s purchase of a minority stake in the team.
