The ACB Kerala Kombans looked very promising when they took the field early on, but their batting display reeks of shabbiness. It gets worse if you look into it; the number 10, Juno Varghese was the highest scorer in the innings. He made only 14, having faced 6 deliveries. He was the only batter to reach double figures in this innings. It took 52 deliveries for the first boundary to be hit, and 56 deliveries for a Kombans batter to clear the ropes.

The botched-up run-chase was more down to inexperience and immaturity from the ACB Kerala Kombans batting line-up rather than brilliance with the ball from the USC Madenburg. Ill-advised running between the wickets played a major part as well. They had only 11 on the board at the end of the powerplay. The batters, instead of trying to find the gaps, kept swinging hard and failed to get the desired results. The wickets then started to tumble as the scoreboard pressure mounted.

By the time Juno cleared the ropes, the game was gone. A mathematically impossible 33 was needed off 5 deliveries, and Juno Varghese decided to have some fun, clearing the ropes on successive occasions, which'll help improve the Net Run Rate eventually. USC Madenburg win the contest by 16 runs at the end.
