This is Dwaipayan Mukherjee, signing off with my co-commentator Rudransh, as UCCB register a win. They are back in less than 20 minutes for their next game, which will be covered in our space as well. See you for that one!
14, 24 and 9 runs were scored in the opening 3 overs which really set the tone for the chase and quashed any hopes for a ACCB win. The half century stand came up from 20 balls and they did exactly what was required to gain the bonus point as well.
Things went from bad to worse for the bowling side when Rohit Kumar was also dropped in the 4th over after Saeed Ullah excavated a wicket taking opportunity. Skipper Ramesh Satheesan was the first to depart, when he went fishing outside off stump, albeit after giving his side a great start by getting 32 off 16 with 2 fours and 3 sixes.
Ullah and Madusanka sent down exceptional comeback overs in 4th , 5th and 6th to breath life into this contest - they did not get a lot of runs on the board but the kind of challenge they were able to produce was truly praiseworthy. Ullah was clearly the pick of the bowlers and had the bowlers been backed up a little more by their opposition, it could have been a different ball game altogether.
Keeper Bilal Ahmed, steadied the ship with Rohit Kumar after the loss of a couple of wickets - but Abdul Asif returned to the bowling crease and while he could hardly keep himself together in what looked like a hamstring issue.
Abdul Asif was summoned again in the final over to defend and only if the catch would have been taken in the first ball and it would have completely changed the complexion of the game. In the end, UCCB won with 3 balls left.
9.3 Abdul Asif to Bilal Ahmed, FOUR! Full outside off, drives it hard over covers and gets it through to the fence! And that'll be it. More nerves than UCCB would have wanted but they get the job done!
9.3 Abdul Asif to Bilal Ahmed, WIDE outside off -- poor one!
9.2 Abdul Asif to Rajesh Kumar, length ball on the pads, misses the flick but takes the leg-bye
9.1 Abdul Asif to Rajesh Kumar, DROPPED! BIG MISS! Full on middle and leg, hoicks it to long on who runs but doesn't hold on! They take a couple
7 runs to win from the last over! Funny things happen in cricket. Can Asif be the hero for his side? AND THEY HAVE DROPPED A CHANCE!

Great over by Abdul Asif, who could hardly keep himself together as he might be struggling in what looks like a hamstring issue. Still 15 runs needed from the last 12 balls. Parveen Kumar returns for his final over.

7.6 Abdul Asif to Bilal Ahmed, RUN OUT CHANCE AT THE STRIKER'S END! Short on the body, pulled to deep fine leg where the fielder gets a throw in nicely but the keeper has already broken the stumps so it's not out!
