Tahlia McGrath | Player of the Match: The Make My Wish foundation got in touch with me a couple of months back. He got a hundred yesterday against the girls in the nets, so some extra motivation today with him around [referring to the young boy who was the mascot of the game today]. Solid innings. I have been well below-par all season and happy to come out with a win. Cricket is a cruel cruel game, when it's low it's really low. Hopefully it's the start of something good for me. We have been good with the ball all season. Someone in our team always stands up and it's so nice to be around these bunch of girls. Mushangwe looks like she was involved in Big Bash the whole year. She stepped up today and it's always a big loss not to have Megan Schutt. We play on Sunday, hopefully we win and then we play the semi-finals.

What a chase this has been. McGrath who has been struggling till today has turned it all around and in some fashion. The target of 155 has been chased down with 31 balls to spare. The Strikers level now with the Hurricanes on 15 points with both teams having a game left. The race for the top four is getting spicier. So Strikers have won one of their two must-win games. The next one is on Sunday for them. Coming back to this game, it was all one-way traffic once McGrath hit her straps. She got a free-hit early on and put it away to the boundary, that kickstarted her innings and she never looked back.

The Strikers have made the chase look so easy and at the end, McGrath finished it off in a canter. If not for the 5 wides by Graham, she might even have got to a richly-deserved ton. Hang on for the post-match presentation...
