Phew! Take a deep breath. We have been treated to a thriller and an absolute classic from the ICC U19 World Cup. Who would have that at the start of the Sri Lankan chase that Afghanistan will be able to successfully defend 134? But Afghanistan managed just that. Their successful defence was kickstarted by the pace duo of Bilal Sami and Naveed Zadran. The two young fast bowlers bowled really well at the start of the Sri Lankan innings are reduced Sri Lanka to just 24/4. Then the Afghan spinners came into action as Sri Lanka further slipped to 43/7. A good solid 69-run partnership between Sri Lanka captain Dunith Wellalage and Raveen de Silva reignited Sri Lanka's spirits. It started to feel like Sri Lanka will be able to pull off the unlikeliest of chases. But Afghanistan kept their nerves while Sri Lanka lost those when things got tight. And in the end Afghanistan prevailed by mere four runs in a close-fought match to sail into the semifinals.
Dunith Wellalage, Sri Lanka captain: I am proud of my team. I congratulate the Afghanistan team. We committed a few mistakes. There were four runouts. There are a few positives.
Suliman Safi, Afghanistan captain: The boys played really well. 130 was not a big total to defend. But the boys played really well. We will work hard to play against England.
Noor Ahmad (Player of the Match): It was a proud match for us. I tried to push the runs and get a good total to help the team so that we could defend it. The captain told us that the wicket is not easy for batting so if we didn't make a good total even they may not chase it.
Sri Lanka dressing room is shell shocked! AND AFGHAN PLAYERS ARE OVER JOYED! The sport at the highest level is about fine margins and it is all about keeping calm just at the moment when it matters the most. Afghanistan players kept calm at the moment when it mattered the most. Sri Lanka fought so so hard but they lost the plot at the wrong moment to get their hearts broken.
England get ready as this brilliant bunch of Afghanistan players are coming your way in the semifinal.

45.6 Naweed Zadran to Vinuja Ranpul, RUN OUT! CHAOS! AFGHANISTAN SNATCH VICTORY! SCENES IN COOLIDGE! Look at the Afghans - they are all over each other as they huddle up and pound each other to the ground. Oh Sri Lanka - sheer agony! Sheer, sheer agony! You couldn't write this script! Back of a length delivery outside off, Ranpul hangs back and opens the face to guide it towards backward point. He holds his ground firmly but his partner is miles down the track and all that was needed was a throw to the bowler. Zadran collects it, turns around and runs a couple of steps before firing an underarm throw at the stumps before he takes off on a sprint much like his teammates. Afghanistan clinch a thriller by 4 runs and qualify for the semifinals of the ICC U19 World Cup 2022! Treveen Mathew run out (Nangyala Khan/Naweed Zadran) 4 (15b 4x0 6x0)
45.5 Naweed Zadran to Vinuja Ranpul, AHH! Full length delivery outside off, slants across the batter who has a waft at it upon getting forward, only to end up beaten past the edge.
45.4 Naweed Zadran to Vinuja Ranpul, OOH! Hits a back of a length radar in the corridor and gets it to zip across the batter, Ranpul feels for it as he camps back but the ball whistles through to the keeper with good carry.
45.3 Naweed Zadran to Vinuja Ranpul, short of a length delivery angling across the corridor, Ranpul hops in his crease and flat-bats it off the bottom edge behind point.
Another small meeting in the Afghan camp!
5 needed now for Sri Lanka. Win for Sri Lanka, win for Afghanistan, or a Tie, all three results are possible!
45.2 Naweed Zadran to Vinuja Ranpul, FOUR! BIG RESULT FOR SRI LANKA! Short and wide of off, Ranpul hops onto his toes and slashes powerfully in front of backward point as he throws everything into it. More importantly, he picks the gap and sends it rocketing to the boundary.
45.1 Naweed Zadran to Vinuja Ranpul, length delivery slanting across the batter outside off, Ranpul crouches low and slashes late through the backward point region as he tears back at top speed for the second run with deep third man picking up to his left. Into single digits now the equation...
A small team meeting among the Afghan players.
Naveed Zadran is back into the attack.
Just a single from the over. Mathew survives yet another over. Who shall rise to the occasion and who shall wilt?
