That's all from us then! We hope you enjoyed our coverage of this first ODI between Bangladesh and Ireland! This is Soumarya Dutta, signing off on behalf of my partner, Arya Sekhar Chakraborty. See you soon!
Tamim Iqbal (Bangladesh captain): Oh yees definitely. The way we batted was exceptional. It wasn't the easiest wickets to bat on. We were very composed. Shakib was brilliant, very impressed with Towhid. Mushfiqur made a big difference with his knock. Very pleased with the way we bowled. It wasn't the easiest wickets to bowl on but we executed our plans well. Yes maybe a little more better. The first 20-25 overs wasn't that easy to bat on, it was slower. Playing in good wickets will help us over a longer period of time. I think he has been doing this for 17 years. Sometimes people don't understand that if you are playing for 17 years there is bound to be ups and down. Taskin was brilliant, Edadot has been top class and special mention to Nasum as well. He doesn't play too much ODI cricket but performs whenever given the chance.
Towhid Hridoy (Player of the Match): Little bit hurt but I am happy. Thanks to almighty for this knock. I felt good in the middle. Shakib bhai inspired me a lot while batting and it helped me. Yeah I was confident, I was just trying to execute my plans.
Andrew Balbirnie (Ireland captain): I think at the halfway stage we weren't disappointed with the score we were chasing. We started off well but those 5 wickets in a cluster put us on the backfoot. I think we don't really use this as an excuse but we weren't quite used to the pitch. Hopefuly we can come back stronger on Monday. We wanna compete and beat good teams but for that we have to play lot better than what we did today.
Ireland 155 all out in 30.5 overs George Dockrell 45(47) | Ebadot Hossain 4/42 Stephen Doheny 34(38) | Nasum Ahmed 3/43
Right so, Bangladesh have created history here and it only took them 30 overs to skittle out Ireland for 155 and achieve their biggest ever ODI win. Ireland started off really well as both Stephen Doheny and Paul Stirling went great guns early on. They raced off to 60 in just 11 overs and it seemed like the chase was on at that point of time! However, once Doheny was dismissed , Ireland had a collapse and it became like a procession.
At one stage they had lost 5 wickets in the span of 7 overs until Curtis Campher and George Dockrell put on a 33 run partnership! However once Campher was gone, the rest of the batting capitulated under pressure. George Dockrell played a lone hand as he kept attacking the bowlers en route his 45 run knock but he hardly had any support from the other end. In the end, he perished in the search of some quick runs and was the final man to be dismissed!
The bowlers did a remarkable job for Bangladesh and the collapse was triggered once again by their main man, Shakib Al Hasan! Once he had made the inroads, there was no looking back as the rest of the bowlers kept picking up wickets at regular intervals and kept building up the pressure. Ebadot Hossain was the pick of the bowlers as he kept getting the wickets with the short ball! Nasum Ahmed played his part too as he dismissed the middle order batters with his left arm spin. Special mention must also go to Mushfiqur Rahim, who took some exceptional catches and was brilliant behind the wickets.
Overall, it's been a historic day for Bangladesh Cricket as they have created a new milestone and have retained their 100% win record at the Sylhet Stadium. Ireland will be really disappointed with this below par batting effort and they will need to have some real soul searching in that dressing room, before they come back for the second ODI!
Bangladesh win by 183 runs and take a 1-0 lead in the 3 match ODI Series!
30.5 Ebadot Hossain to George Dockrell, WICKET! That seals the match for Bangladesh. Dockrell makes some room and tries to flash this away towards the off side. Right on the money and it is never easy to play against that pace. Rattles the middle and leg.
George Dockrell b Ebadot Hossain 45(47b 6x4 0x6)
30.4 Ebadot Hossain to George Dockrell, that was a well disguised slower delivery. A shade outside off on the fuller side, Dockrell way too early into his shot, tries to bang this down the ground, the cue end of the bat takes it just over Tamim and Dockrell returns for a couple.
30.3 Ebadot Hossain to Graham Hume, on a good-length just a shade outside off, Hume gets an inside edge as he plays away from the body down towards the deep fine leg region for a single.
30.2 Ebadot Hossain to Graham Hume, a quick low full toss a shade outside off, squirted away straight to the backward point fielder.
30.1 Ebadot Hossain to Graham Hume, a stunning yorker a shade outside off, goes well under the bat of Hume.
Nasum Ahmed almost had his fourth wicket in that over but he will just have to wait for a bit longer! Bangladesh are just one wicket away from a win here!

29.6 Nasum Ahmed to George Dockrell, FOUR! Dockrell makes some room and takes the aerial route. Was a length delivery around off, a valiant effort from Litton Das at long-off but couldn't quite hold onto the catch.
29.5 Nasum Ahmed to Graham Hume, nicely bowled by Nasum. Fuller a shade outside off, driven down towards the deep extra cover regin and takes a single.
29.4 Nasum Ahmed to George Dockrell, flatter angling into Dockrell, worked away down the deep backward square leg region for a single.
29.3 Nasum Ahmed to George Dockrell, shorter and flatter a shade outside off, Dockrell makes some room and thrashes that straight to the extra cover fielder.
29.2 Nasum Ahmed to Graham Hume, flatter on the pads, Hume misses out on the attempted flick, trickles off his pads down towards the square leg region and takes a single.
29.1 Nasum Ahmed to George Dockrell, tossed up delivery on middle, sliced away down the ground from the inside half of the bat down towards long-on and takes a single.
