The Bonn Blue Stars show glimpses of why they were champions of the ECS last year, but it came a tad too late this time. The two openers, Mohammad Shafiullah Khadem and Haron Khan, never gave the Bayer Spartans bowlers a chance in the chase, barring one towards the latter stages. The ball kept flying over the infield far too often, and almost took out the commentators and the scorers once each. Khadem was favourite to get to a half-century at one stage, but then, Haron Khan mixed some brute force with some finesse and went on to match Khadem's score! Kadeem ended up winning the run race by one, the run being the one to take the Bonn Blue Stars past the line!
