Commentary

Alright then! Just two more matches to go before we find out the winner of WBBL 2022. Sydney Sixers are already in the final and we will get to know their opponent tomorrow. It's going to be Adelaide Strikers vs Brisbane Heat. Both teams won one apiece in the league phase, and it's going to be a cracking contest at the same venue. Jess Jonassen: I can't get my serious face on. Obviously pleased with the result tonight. Our fielding was under par tonight apart for that catch from Jess Kerr. We are priding ourselves on different players stepping up. Someone of Wyatt's ability sets the tone for us at the top of the order. Laura Harris too, has been contributing and there are others who are capable of scoring as well. It was a tricky wicket but there was a shorter side too. So the match ups were key, not only with batters but with the dimensions as well. The outfield wasn't as quick either. We're supposedly a bit arrogant and if other teams are looking into our camps and talking about us, we are proud of that. If it's arrogance, I'm not sure. It's only confidence for our side.

Laura Harris is the Player of the Match. Here is what she has to say: My job is pretty much to go hell for leather anyway. We wanted to get to the 60-70 mark after 10 and then take the surge with wickets in hand. It's great to get the win. I'm not a highlights reel person, I leave that to Grace. I look out for things I did wrong and try to fix them. Some of them paid off. We felt like we hadn't played a 20-over game in a long time. We were ecstatic to come tonight for a whole game. No one did much today. Watched a few movies and had lunch. We've had a couple of chats about his not being the easiest season for us but if we can't perform now, then what are you doing?

Turned out to be a comprehensive win for Brisbane Heat as they book their spot against Adelaide Strikers in the same venue tomorrow. Hobart Hurricanes got off to a good start as Lee and Villani set the tone for the chase by putting up a 61-run stand for the opening wicket, but they lost their way through in the middle overs. The spin trio dictated terms in the middle and made it hard for the Hobart Hurricanes' batters.

Losing the well-set Lizelle Lee in the first over of the power surge proved pivotal for the Heat to turn the tide in their favour. It was hard for the Hurricanes to gain any momentum at the back end as they lost five wickets for just 19 runs. Jess Jonassen picked up four wickets and she was ably supported by Amelia Kerr, Courtney Sippel and Charli Knott
