Ellyse Perry (Man of the Match): It's just a wonderful game. we had awesome tussles against the Heat in the past and it's good to be on the winning side. We know that they are gonna bring the best bowlers back. Burns adds everything and it's unfortunate not to have her last season. She is a wonderful person to have off the field and when we were handing a cap to Sophie Ecclestone, she put everyone in stitches

What a crackerjack of a match to kickstart this edition of WBBL. Jess Jonassen dragged his team back into the contest with a double-strike as she removed both set-batters in the last over of Power surge. But Jonassen had herself to blame for shuffling the bowlers at the back end as she got it wrong and gave the part-timer Georgia Voll to bowl the final over

Ecclestone's wicket turned out to be a blessing in disguise for the Sixers as Maitlan Brown smashed a first-ball six to get her team off to a winning start.

Jess Kerr got rid of the dangerous Alyssa Healy in the very first over before the other two big fishes Bates and Gardner fell cheaply. When the Sixers were reeling at 25-3, Burns joined hands with Perry and both played some free-flowing shots to keep the scoreboard ticking.

Boundaries were coming at regular intervals and both of them got to a half-century. When things looked easy-peasy for the Sixers, Jess Jonassen got rid of them in her last over, but somehow, the Sixers held their composure and crossed the finish line
