With that victory, the Divers cement their place at the top of the table, also giving a boost to their already phenomenal net run rate. The Hikers are right behind them in the table but the gap is widening now.

You would have always thought that a target of 131 runs is just a bit too high to chase against this Divers side. Hikers put in a valiant effort in the middle overs, but the fire died out towards the end before it became just a formality to finish the game off.

Jahseon Alexander provided Divers the perfect start by dismissing the dangerous Gidron Pope. Brian Joseph followed soon after but skipper Kevin James combined with Sherlon George to ensure that they were in the hunt.

However, the introduction of Leniko Boucher after the powerplay turned the tide entirely in the Divers' favour. A two-run over can be really costly when you have so little time to compensate in a big run chase. And after that over, everything went downhill for the Hikers.

Alex Antoine did hit some lusty blows towards the end, but the writing was already on the walls. Leniko Boucher had a brilliant outing and finished with figures of 2/3 in his spell. You can't ask for anything better from your pacer, can you?
