That's it from us here. Thank you for joining us for the live coverage. This is Bidipto and his partner Chandra signing off...
Bhanu Seth has been adjudged the Player of the Match! Here is what he has to say.
Bhanu Seth: This innings on this platform means a lot to me! I have played a tournament just recently here but this was a slightly different wicket. The ball was holding in the pitch a bit. But I'm really happy to have played such a knock and actually am looking forward to more.
Monty Panesar (Chandigarh Champs captain): It was a great effort from us to restrict them to 180! We gave away only 61 runs in the last 10 overs and bowled magnificently to Yusuf Pathan in the last 5 overs. The players are not shy of a discussion and that is great for any squad. Bhanu Seth's batting though was to notch today!
Yusuf Pathan (Guwahati Avengers captain): The start was really good and then there were a few balls that kept low, so I felt that the score was okay. But the way they batted stole the game away from us. Our bowling needs to improve though. Great to see the crowd turn up in numbers.
It is time for the post-match presentation!
CC won by 7 wickets CC - 182/3 (12.2 overs) Bhanu Seth - 130*(48) | Robin Bist - 25(13) Amit Tomar - 2/23 | Varun Khanna - 1/46
A dominant batting performance from CC as Bhanu Seth single-handedly propelled them to a comfortable win. The dynamic right-hander scripted an unbeaten knock of 130 to chase down the target of 181 with a little more than 7 overs to spare. Robin Bist played the perfect support role from the other end as the duo scripted a partnership of 78 runs to absolutely decimate the GA bowlers and notch up the win.
For GA, Amit Tomar and Varun Khanna managed to find two scalps and one wicket respectively in an otherwise lacklustre bowling effort.
With the win, CC now occupies the apex position in the points table while GA drop to the bottom after the first game of the KhiladiX Legends Cricket Trophy 2023.
12.2 Amit Tomar to Puneet Kumar, FOUR RUNS! WITH THAT, CHANDIGARH CHAMPS GET A CONVINCING WIN! Round the wicket, full outside off. Driven away to deep cover from the front foot to bring up the winning runs with a boundary!
Puneet Kumar, LHB, walks out to bat at No.5
12.1 Amit Tomar to Robin Bist, OUT! Good length ball on middle. Robin misses the flick shot around his front pad and gets struck on the pad in front of the stumps. The big appeal for LBW gets acknowledged by the umpire with the raise of the dreaded finger!
Robin Bist lbw Amit Tomar 25 (13b 2X4 1X6)
Amit Tomar to bowl next.
Bhanu Seth and Robin Bist extend their partnership to 78 runs. It's all but over for GA as CC need 3 more runs to win from 8 overs.
