Hello and a warm welcome to Sportskeeda's live coverage of the 44th match of the European Cricket Series Austria 2023. This contest pits Donaustadt up against Cricketer CC at the Seebarn Cricket Ground.
Both teams have gone about their work brilliantly so far in the tournament, with Donaustadt topping the table with 15 points from 8 matches and Cricketer CC in fourth position with 11 points from 8 outings. It is worth noting that Donaustadt are yet to be defeated though and it remains to be seen if Cricketer CC will finally hand them a first defeat for the tournament or not.
It's no surprise that Donaustadt have had contributions coming from all corners across departments as their strong position on the table suggests. Razmal Shigiwal has been in irrepressible form with the bat, as have Iqbal Hossain and Aman Ahmadzai, with Qadargul Utmanzai also doing his bit to good effect. With the ball, Osman Khan has snared 9 wickets thus far while Ahmadzai, Itibarshah Deedar and Sahel Zadran have also been amongst the wickets on a regular basis. Simply put, this is a team that is firing on all cylinders and is looking highly functional.
Cricketer CC have done well on the batting front themselves, with Bilal Zalmai, Jaweed Sadran and Baseer Khan looking in fine nick. Waqar Zalmai hasn't been far behind himself with Samargol Messalhn also chipping in. Waqar has also shown the way with the ball and while Sadran and Bilal have made their presence felt themselves, they would certainly want to pick up more wickets on a regular basis while hoping that the support cast also does its bit effectively enough.
It is tough to look beyond Donaustadt as hot favorites for this contest although nothing can be taken for granted in a format like this.
