Match summary:
Fresh Tropical win by 4 wickets with 1 ball to spare
It wasn't supposed to get this close, but it did, thanks to a spirited fight from the Brescia bowlers. At no stage did they give up, their spinners helping in pulling things back at the halfway stage after Fresh Tropical got off to a bright start. Qalab Sajjad and Riaz Mudassar both picked up crucial wickets in the middle stages, which set the game up nicely. But the duo of Usman Javaid and Hassan Jamil kept their cool and got the Tropicals past the line.
Javed Mahash got the Fresh Tropicals off to a strong start early on, but fell after the powerplay. It was Irfan Shaikh who went on to play anchor as the other batters tried and failed to play around him. A couple of really tight overs going into the penultimate over meant that the pressure was back on FT, especially after Shaikh fell. But Javaid and Jamil went on to deliver in the penultimate over itself, taking 17 off it. Imran Naveed tried to defend 9 off the final over, but Javaid kept his nerve, and eventually, with some aid of the fielders, got his team past the line.
