MATCH SUMMARY
Gamblers CC won by 8 wickets with 8 balls to spare
ZAIN NAQVI TAKE A BOW!!! We have witnessed an all-time great run chase in European cricket history and man wasn't this entertaining to watch!
The fact that Gamblers CC have chased down 174 is a huge thing in itself but to say that they cruised home with an over and two deliveries is just mind-boggling stuff. Unbelievable, but yes we have witnessed it unfold in front of our eyes here and it was a spectacle to behold.
What a display of power hitting and clean ball striking this was! Chasing the huge score, Gamblers got off to a poor start losing their skipper, Kuldeep Gholiya in the first over. Rana Sarwar, the skipper of Punjab CC got the wicket and he would have felt that they were right on top at that stage.
No one expected the kind of onslaught that followed and certainly Punjab CC Amadora were blown away in the storm named ZAIN NAQVI.
He spared none of the bowlers on his way to a scintillating hundred, off just 27 deliveries, and took his team home almost single-handedly.
There were valuable contributions from the likes of Mayank Darji who scored a 13-ball 33 and Ankush Kumar who remained unbeaten in the end with Naqvi with a 7-ball 14*, but this was just a ONE MAN SHOW.
Earlier in the piece, Punjab CC Amadora would have been pretty happy with the score they had put on the board, 173 to be precise. They had got there on the back of some clean hitting of their own. Simranjeet Singh top scored for them with an unbeaten 73* of 26 balls but there were pretty handy contributions from the other batters as well.
It was not a good couple of hours to be a bowler as all of them travelled the journey from both the teams, just 4 wickets fell in the match with 4 bowlers taking a wicket each.
8.4 Adnan Ali to Zain Naqvi, FOUR SIXES TO FINISH OFF!!! Naqvi, the Carlos Braithwaite of ECN. Half tracker from the bowler. But honestly, he could have bowled virtually anywhere and it wouldn't have mattered. That was the kind of ball-striking that Naqvi had put on display. It has been a stupendous knock.
Scores level!!
8.3 Adnan Ali to Zain Naqvi, THREE SIXES IN A ROW!! Full ball and he goes for a lofted drive over wide long off. Holds his shape and that fetches him another half a dozen.
Consecutive centuries for Zain Naqvi and boy hasn't he deserved it, gets to the landmark in just 27 deliveries
8.2 Adnan Ali to Zain Naqvi, SIX TO MAKE IT 100!!!! This time he hits it straight as an arrow. Takes his helmet off and hugs the non-striker to celebrate.
8.1 Adnan Ali to Zain Naqvi, SIX TO GET INTO THE NINETIES!!! It wasn't a poor ball but he has gone deep in his crease, got underneath it and connected the cross batted smash to send the ball sailing over the leg side boundary.
Adnan Ali [1.0-0-18-1] is back into the attack
17 OFF THE OVER!!! Gamblers CC are cruising this now and if they botch it from here, they would be mightily disappointed. But, as they say, anything can happen. Can Punjab CC Amadora pull a rabbit out their hat?

7.6 Gurjit Singh to Ankush Kumar, takes a couple of steps towards the bowler and swings for the heavens. Makes connection with only air molecules.
7.5 Gurjit Singh to Zain Naqvi, squirted to deep point for one run.
7.4 Gurjit Singh to Zain Naqvi, SIX RUNS!! Short ball that climbed onto the batter but Naqvi is too good. He hooks it away for a maximum.
7.3 Gurjit Singh to Zain Naqvi, MISCUED!!! And it falls in no man's land. Naqvi miscued the pull and nobody could get underneath it before it landed.
Rana Sarwar goes to his bowler and tries to calm him down, is this too late now for Punjab CC?
7.2 Gurjit Singh to Zain Naqvi, BOOOM!!!!! Stands deep in his crease and that allows him to get underneath the ball and launch it over the bowler's head for a six.
7.1 Gurjit Singh to Ankush Kumar, pushes it down to long on. His intention was never to get more than one.
16 runs came off the over and the equation is now down to 2 a ball, Gamblers CC need 36 runs in 18 balls and you have got to say that they are favorites now. What a run chase this has been already to bring it to this stage even!
