So, it is the Mechelen Eagles, the host club who go onto win the FanCode ECS Belgium, 2022 title by beating Gent by 20 runs in the final. A professional performance by the Eagles!! They set-up the game by putting on a decent 113/9 after deciding to bat first. In the second innings, the Eagles got off to a tremendous start as the duo of Ainuddin Zakhel and Abdulrahimzai Idrees reduced Gent to 10/3 in the second over. The duo of Omid Malik Khel and Sear Malik Khel tried to rebuild the innings with a flurry of boundaries.
However, the Eagles came back strongly with Ikramullah Naseer removing Sear Malik Khel in the 6th over. Slingy seamer, Mazar Marshal put his side in the driver's seat as he went onto dismiss three Gent batsmen. Khogyani Shakerullah also chipped in with the wicket of Waleed Azhar as Gent's chase nose-dived. In the end, the wicket-keeper Mohinder Deepak Balli enjoyed his stint with 22 runs coming off the final over but it was irrelevent for Mechelen Eagles with victory already sealed!
