So, that will be it from Vizag for today! Do join us again tomorrow for the final game of the group stage which decides who finishes where in the top four. As for now, this is Bidipto taking your leave. You can switch tabs to catch the live action from the T20I between India and Australia and the ODI between England and the West Indies. Keep following Sportskeeda!
Kevin O'Brien (Gujarat Giants captain): The wicket was a little bit up and down and the bowlers were excellent with their lengths. Monty Panesar bowled quite well I thought and then, out batters finished it off well enough. We could have done it a bit better but the win matters and thankfully, we have got it!
Ross Taylor (Southern Super Stars captain): I thought we did not take out chances and that cost us this game. A bit of everything happened that should not have from our point of view but we let it loose to be honest. Hopefully, we come back stronger and better in the next edition.
Abhishek Jhunjhunwala has been adjudged the Legend of the Match! Here is what he has to say.
Abhishek Jhunjhunwala: We always believed that if we could take it deep, we win. Our bowlers did an excellent job first up to keep it under 160, that made out job easier I feel. I told Chirag Khurana to hang in there and keep building the partnership on this good wicket. Luckily, it paid off!
It is time for the post-match presentation!
Gujarat Giants win by 5 wickets with 8 balls to spare!
It was a rather comfortable win in the end but not before a few hiccups for the Gujarat Giants! However, the important contributions from Kevin O'Brien, Chirag Khurana and Elton Chigumbura to go with the top score of Abhishek Jhunjhunwala helped their team get into the play-offs and send their opponents out of the tournament.
There were quite a few chances given by the Giants in this innings but most of them were grasped by the Super Stars. If you miss your chances on so many occasions, you are bound to get knocked out we're afraid! That's what happened to the Ross Taylor-led side here.
Without their big names, the Giants managed to do a remarkable job first with the ball and then with the bat. It could have been prettier, but in the end, all that matters and all that boosts the confidence of a side, is the win under the belt and that is what they were able to get!
18.4 Chaturanga de Silva to Elton Chigumbura, SIX MORE! THAT WILL DO IT! GUJARAT GIANTS ARE INTO THE PLAY-OFFS! Slightly fuller and flighted on off-and-middle. Clubbed over wide long-on off the front foot this time for a maximum!
18.3 Chaturanga de Silva to Elton Chigumbura, DROPPED FOR SIX! Good length ball on middle-stump. Hammered on the charge to the wide long-on region but the fielder there makes a mess of it to parry it over the rope!
18.2 Chaturanga de Silva to Elton Chigumbura, short and straight on middle-and-off. Pushed back to the bowler off the back foot, no run.
18.1 Chaturanga de Silva to Chirag Khurana, round the wicket, short on the legs here. Worked away to deep square-leg off the back foot for a single.

17.5 Abdur Razzak to Elton Chigumbura, FOUR MORE! Short on the pads this time. Tucked around really fine this time and to the right of the diving short fine-leg for a boundary!
17.4 Abdur Razzak to Elton Chigumbura, FOUR RUNS! Short and wide outside off-stump. Punched away off the back foot to the left of wide long-off for a boundary!
17.3 Abdur Razzak to Elton Chigumbura, OUT! LBW HERE! CHIGUMBURA REVIEWS. Good length ball on middle-stump. Chigumbura came down the track and tried to turn it around to leg. It beat him and struck him on the back thigh pad. The umpire ruled it in favour of the bowler there but the third umpire reckoned that it is too high! The on-field decision gets overturned.
17.2 Abdur Razzak to Elton Chigumbura, short on middle-stump. Punched down to cover off the back foot, no run.
17.1 Abdur Razzak to Elton Chigumbura, round the wicket, full on middle-and-off. Tapped to short extra cover off the front foot, no run.

16.5 Hamid Hassan to Seekkuge Prasanna, GONE! Full toss on middle-and-leg. Flicked away off the shoulder of the blade but straight down the throat of deep square-leg for a simple catch! The third umpire checked for the front foot and the height and deemed it in favour of the bowling side.
