And the Indian prodigy gets audacious and finishes off in style. Woah what a match this was!
Hobart Hurricanes have finally come out of their losing streak which was mounting the pressure on the team. A complete team performance from the Hobart Hurricanes Women and a clinical outing in batting, bowling and fielding. A captaincy masterstroke from Rachel Priest to keep the Stars to 144 from their 20 overs. She was spot on with her field placements and bowling changes.
The start of the run chase was steady as Johnston departed for a golden duck as Kim Garth knocked her over. Mignon Du Preez came i at no. 3 and was cautious in the initial stage of her innings while Priest was warming up. Priest looked set for her 23 before giving a straightforward catch to Sophie Day off her own bowling.

Mignon Du Preez took charge of the innings from thereon unleashing some staggering shots and maneuvering the ball pretty nonchalantly. She scored 62 off 45 balls and largely ensured Hurricanes get over the line comfortably with Rich Ghosh applying the final touches.

Lanning's Stars were pretty flat in the bowling department after the powerplay where they seemed to lose the plot as the overs passed.
Hurricanes batters scored more or less off every bowler as they were reprieved courtesy of some buttery fingers of Stars fielders. Melbourne Stars did not particularly bowl well as they gave the batters way too many loose deliveries to score boundaries and allowed Hurricanes to be well on course for a good finish in their chase.

Hurricanes were pretty consistent with the chase as they met the required rate every over making sure nothing is left to be conquered at the end.
