It was a complete Hornchurch show here, and unfortunately, Darmstadt could not really compete with the brilliance on display. Despite losing their opener Ronnie Saunders to a short-pitched delivery early on in the innings as well as wicket keeper batter Gary Murray to an obnoxious run out, they coasted home quite comfortably.
They never looked like breaking a sweat here against the side from Germany. George Hankins led the charge for the English side and this was followed up by Adeel Malik, who came in at number four. The latter finished the game in style, and was assisted a little by Christopher Sains at the other end of the pitch.
Earlier in the day, Gavin Griffiths bowled extremely well to restrain Darmstadt a little and despite Mansoor Khan's superb spell of bowling, the latter could not quite get a grip on things. Hornchurch managed to script an easy and comfortable win, with close to two overs still in hand when they got over the line!
