So that will be all from the Indore-leg of the Road Safety World Series 2022. Sad that it had to end with rain playing spoilsport, but this now means that we have plenty to look forward to from the Dehradun-leg of the T20 tournament. We will be here with you, first thing day after tomorrow, with the New Zealand Legends again, and they will be up against the West Indies Legends. Match abandoned

The crowd turned up in numbers and were at the top of their voice as Sachin Tendulkar and Naman Ojha walked out to bat 3 hours ago. The atmosphere was absolutely electric, and both the India Legends openers were thriving from it. Tendulkar clocked back the years and played a few exquisite shots off the backfoot, complimented brilliantly by the India Legends wicket-keeper at the other end. Ojha was having a lot of fun taking on the bowling of Shane Bond before skying one and was pouched by Ross Taylor. Suresh Raina came in and picked up from where Ojha left off, middled quite a few and cleared the ropes once as well. India Legends were in a good position at the end of the powerplay, but then, the heavens opened up, and they did so for good.

Ahh well, the inevitable has happened. The incessant rain in Indore drenched the outfield a bit too much, and the visuals from the ground were enough evidence to conclude that there was no way the ground staff could have prepared conditions for cricket for the day.

Never mind. Despite the fact that people are flocking back to their seats, it's still pelting down. Part of the outfield looks flooded, going by the live footage from the ground. The covers have been spread over almost the entire ground, barring a few parts.

A loud cheer from the crowd as the rain seems to subside.

More bad news. The rain keeps getting heavier. We see more covers being brought on now, and the entire outfield might be under cover for a while. As a matter of fact, the outfield itself seems to be flooded, my word, it is absolutely pelting down over there! The ground staff are drenched, the covers and the outfield, both are flooded. This does not look good at all.

Ah well. Tendulkar doesn't want to go off the field as the rain gets heavier, but the umpires have to take the players off the field now as the covers are brought on!
