Shubman Gill | Player of the Match: We have seen there is seam movement for the team bowling first, we spoke about not losing wickets in the powerplay, that was the plan. Once you are set, you can score big and in the previous match I made the mistake of going hard after not scoring big in the powerplay. As the ball gets older, it's easier to score and build momentum. Last match I fell early and there was big partnership, today Abhishek and Prabhsimran fell early, me and Anmolpreet had a partnership, shows that everyone in the team are in form and we are batting with a lot of confidence. It's always good to see your name in the Indian team in any format and it's time to show that I deserve that spot.

Punjab would have thought that they would win this comfortably but the middle order of Karnataka gave them a tough fight and even looked like they will chase it in the end.

Kaul started off with a wicket maiden and a run out in that over as the top order failed in the powerplay for Karnataka, which resulted in them falling short just 9 runs. After being 18/3 Pandey and Chethan got a good partnership in to rescue them. Pandey scored a brilliant 45 before getting out.

Then came in Manohar who scored 62 runs alongside Chethan, Bhandage and Gowtham and tried till the end. Chethan scored 33 and Bhandage played a brilliant 25 run cameo off just 9 balls. Gowtham came in with 85 runs required and then him and Manohar took the bowlers to town and scored 78 runs from the next 28 deliveries and almost won it for Karnataka.

Punjab will be disappointed in the end, winning it so close to home. Ramandeep got 2 wickets but gave away 26 from his 2 overs. Kumar, Baltej and Kaur got a wicket each with every bowler going above 10.3 rpo except Kaul. He bowled the important 19th over and gave away just 12 when 38 was required.
