Continuous loss of wickets towards the latter stages of the chase hampered the Kings Bay Royals rather fatally. They were well and truly in the game with Amir Jangoo and Vikash Mohan going all guns blazing in the middle overs - in fact they were ahead of their opponents at that stage, but the wicket of the Kings Bay Royals skipper turned the tide towards the Explorers for good.

Jangoo began slowly, unable to time the ball right, but once Mohan came in, the Royals found some much-needed impetus. While Jangoo succeeded in finding the gaps more often, Mohan cleared the boundary on a regular basis. The duo put on a partnership of 73 before Jangoo holed out. Joachim followed soon after, and then, it was left to Mohan to get them past the line.

Just 5 runs came in the following over and a half, following which Mohan departed as well. It was a matter of closing the game out for the Explorers bowlers post that, and they completed the task. They take the honours by 14 runs!
