Thanks a lot for joining us - Dwaipayan Mukherjee and Mohul Bhowmick - for this stunning encounter between Lankan Lions and ACCB from the ECS Romania tournament. We hope you enjoyed the coverage. Stay tuned to Sportskeeda for more live action coming your way!
Lankan Lions got off to a good start but they could not carry it off or pick up a win at the end of the evening and this will hurt them a lot. ACCB bowled extremely well and challenged the batters of the Lions to play from within the crease and express themselves the way they want to.
However, the latter fell into this trap and kept losing wickets at regular intervals; if a team loses wickets at regular intervals, it is almost a certainty that they will not be able to chase runs down comfortably.
The Lions did not have a good partnership in the middle that could take them close to this target and this is what separated them from their opponents. ACCB will be immensely proud of this performance of theirs and hope that they will be able to take this momentum further into the tournament.

9.6 Ali Haider to Gayank Randula, THIS HAS ENDED WITH A WICKET! Edge and the keeper picks it up cleanly. ACCB win by 29 runs!
Gayal Randula c Wimukthi Madhushan b Ali Haider 29 (22b 4x4 1x6)
9.5 Ali Haider to Gayank Randula, Four! Played towards mid wicket - he has made a solid statement to be looked at an upper berth in the batting order for his team and this has been an impressive performance from him.
9.4 Ali Haider to Gayank Randula, 2 runs, played towards third man.
9.4 Ali Haider to Gayank Randula, wide and they get the point! What a tame way to concede the point by the bowling side.
9.3 Ali Haider to Dinuja Thiwanka, 1 run, played towards covers.
9.2 Ali Haider to Gayank Randula, THEY SCORE A BOUNDARY FROM THE EDGE AND NOW IT IS 2 RUNS NEEDED FROM 4 BALLS - goes down the third man region for a streaky boundary.
9.2 Ali Haider to Gayank Randula, a single is taken and now it makes things really interesting with Thiwanka back on strike but it is a wide!
9.1 Ali Haider to Gayank Randula, it is a regulation ball outside off stump and Randula tries to smash it but there is no contact made.
Ali Haider, right arm medium, will bowl the final over.
This game is now surely being won by ACCB. The Lions did not come close to the target at all and kept losing wickets at regular intervals; that is what hurt them a lot.

8.6 Saeed Ullah to Dinuja Thiwanka, Four! Played towards mid off. THEY NEED 8 RUNS FROM THE FINAL OVER TO WIN A BONUS POINT NOW - this is a battle within a battle now.
8.5 Saeed Ullah to Gayank Randula, single run and can Thiwanka now make it big in the final ball of the over?
8.4 Saeed Ullah to Gayank Randula, A BOUNDARY THAT WILL HELP - no matter how it comes as long as they keep coming - there are making inroads to the point in offer for them and this will certainly make them happy.
8.3 Saeed Ullah to Dinuja Thiwanka, smart from Thiwanka as he returns strike to his partner who is striking it well.
8.2 Saeed Ullah to Gayank Randula, a single but there is a point on offer for the batting side now.
8.1 Saeed Ullah to Gayank Randula, A FOUR TO START THE OVER - Randula is making his case stronger as a competent batter for the side but the target needs a miracle to be reached now.
