Malsha Shehani (Player of the Match, here is what she has to say): I am really happy with the performance, the pitch helped spinners a lot. I bowled in the right areas as planned and got the wickets. She bowled as if they had scored only 50 and had to defend that, so everything went according to plan and I am happy with the win.

Chamari Athapaththu (Sri Lanka captain): I am not happy with our batting performance. We lost some wickets and never got going as a top cricketing nation. Wrong shot selection was key. The wickets were slow, but we had to adjust accordingly. The moisture caused us difficulty in adjusting. We needed good net run rate, so I decided to bat first but the batters were not able to do their job like that.

Winifred Duraisingam (Malaysia captain): I think the girls bowled and fielded well but they got lacking while batting. It was our game but I think all the batters were rushing rather than taking their time. I think we are lacking facing good bowlers like this. In associate teams, we don't face bowling like this. There were a lot of variations and that's what cost us the game.

Sri Lanka get a big win and a big boost in the net run rate, really important in this tournament. Dominant performance from the ball as they get Malaysia bundled out in under 10 overs. Kumari started with 2 wickets in 2 balls in the third over, and Sri Lanka never looked back after that.

Hunter was the only batter that got to double figures as all of the other batters gave away their wickets but Hunter was undone by a great delivery by Shehani and then it was a big collapse from there. Shehani came in and sweeped 4 wickets to dismiss Malaysia at 33. She ends with a magical figure of 4/2. Ranaweera got 2 wickets and Ranasinghe got 1 as this was an all round performance from them.
