The target of 76 runs did not seem to be a tough one for the Stars, but they made it look like a walk in the park. Skipper Christian Charlery combined with his trusted lieutenant Sabinus Emmanuel to build an unbeaten opening stand and took their side home with plenty of overs to spare.

It was Charlery who started the fireworks in the chase. He went hammer and tongs right from the outset and set the pace for the chase. The intention was clear right away. The struggled to restrain him, and some ordinary fielding in the outfield did not help either.

There were lots of swings and misses from Emmanuel at the start of the innings. But once he found his touch, there was no looking back. Charlery hit four sixes in his knock, but the three that Emmanuel hit off the final four deliveries was the real icing on the cake. Bronte Boss, who had bowled a decent first over, bore the brunt of Emmanuel's onslaught.

There wasn't much to talk about when it comes to the Pots' bowling. Sky Lafueillee was the only saving grace. He bowled with some pace and found some movement, asking some questions to the left-hander. But the rest of the pack had no getting away. It was a kind of fitting end to the nightmare of a season that they have had.
