Mohammad Rizwan (Multan Sultans captain): The way they started, it was difficult for us. The way Haris and Ayub played - obviously we got the big wicket of the captain - they were going well. Everyone knows how good our power-hitting is. Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses. But I'm very pleased with how the boys are doing in the fast-bowling department. As a batter, you have to assess conditions and then set a target. Usama has assumed such a role for us that teams aren't able to get momentum against him.

Babar Azam (Peshawar Zalmi captain): I think our bowling wasn't up to the mark. Mainly, the fielding - we gave away too many runs on the field. The way Rossouw, Rizwan and Miller played for them was really good. To be honest, the wicket was quite good. It helped the batters. When you lose back-to-back wickets it makes it difficult. The way the youngsters have played has been really encouraging, like Haris and Saim Ayub. Of course conditions are different here and back in Karachi. We have very good local and international players so we'll look to field our best XI.

Rilee Rossouw, Player of the Match - I don't think there is any secret to it and it's about playing the ball on it's merit! The wicket played a bit up and down tonight in the beginning and was slightly two-paced. But we stuck to our guns and had our plans in place. We knew that 200 was always going to be on the cards for us, especially with the kind of batting order and fire power we had in the side.

Shan Masood (Multan Sultans): We didn't want to be in a situation where we thought we were 50 runs short. I think Haris and Saim batted brilliantly. That shows the batting depth that Pakistan has. Brilliant from the leg-spinner Usama Mir and the fast-bowlers bowled really well. He was very clever with how he used the surface. He kept varying his lengths to different batters. Credit to him for backing himself and picking up those wickets. I think we're very clear about our role. What was good against Lahore was even though we lost the game, we were good in all three departments and we lost by just 1 run which is a good sign at the start of the tournament. We've got into our groove. Now it's about making sure we fix our combination. We're very clear with our roles.

This has been an absolutely emphatic victory for the Multan Sultans and they've outclassed the Peshawar Zalmi here. The Zalmi were chasing a huge total and seemed to be in the game for a major part of it. However they lost their way in the middle overs and had an unbelievable collapse which led to them finishing off 56 runs short.

Mohammad Haris and Saim Ayub got them off to a flyer but the former was unfortunately run out courtesy an outstanding run out by Abbas Afridi. Ayub went on to register his first 50 but fell shortly afterwards. Rovman Powell looked good for a while too but Abbas got him with his changes of pace. The rest of the batting capitulated under pressure and couldn't really put up a resistance.

The Multan bowlers received some tap initially but they fought their way back and clinched a prolific win. It was their young pace sensation Ihsanullah who opened the flood gates with the wicket of Babar Azam, but they were still under pressure as long as Haris and Ayub kept going. However leggie Usama Mir was a game changer as he bowled with a lot of heart and used his wrong uns and googlies to good effect. Both Mir and Ihsanullah finished with 3 wickets.

Overall, the Sultans will be thrilled with this win as it sees them at the top of the points table with 4 points. They've clicked together in all departments today and these are great signs for them in the games to come. The Peshawar Zalmi will be disappointed with this effort though. Despite having conceded a big total, they were still in the game for large parts but collapsed dramatically under pressure to loose out the game.

Finishes it with another outstanding yorker does Ihsanullah - tails it back into middle and leg stump and Irshad simply cannot get underneath it even as he stands tall and swings across the line. The ball sneaks through to rattle the stumps and that brings the curtains down on this contest. Multan Sultans romp home by 56 runs to go top of the table!

Brilliant from Abbas Afridi as he managed to outfox Neesham in that over! Just 1 wicket left here for the Zalmi and the victory should be a formality for the Multan Sultans.

That should in all likeliness be the final nail in the coffin for the Peshawar Zalmi! Once again it's the change of pace that has led to the downfall of a batter.

17.4 Abbas Afridi to James Neesham, HOLES OUT! And that should be the game! Back of a length delivery angling across the stumps. Neesham stands tall and heaves it many a mile into the sky without getting enough distance. Deep mid-wicket runs in and pouches it without a fuss as Zalmi lose yet another one.
