Commentary

So that'll be all from this contest. The New York Warriors are through to the final but the California Knights have another lifeline in Qualifier 2. Misbah-ul-Haq (New York Warriors captain): You're always happy when you're in the final. The way the team is playing, really happy with the performance. We started well with the ball - to restrict them under 100 on this pitch gave us a fair chance to win this game. And obviously a good performance with the bat. We'll be just resting - that's the best thing. That was the biggest incentive - everyone was pushing hard in this game. Nobody wants to play another game and then the final. Just go back, rest and come for the final. (How's his own body holding up?) It's going on, not thinking about that. Just thinking about one more game and then will think about the body (grins). Very proud of the guys. 10-over game, it's always tough for the boys with these short boundaries but they're doing an excellent job.

Richard Levi is the Player of the Match for his superb unbeaten 47. Here's what he has to say: Bit of a tricky time in the middle - didn't get off to too many starts but got some time in the middle today. It helps when you have the skipper there - he was talking me through a couple of things there. He kept me nice and calm. (Any pre-match ritual he follows)? Not a ritual, might be a superstition kind of thing - you just try and get into a routine. Love it - never played T10 before but have come out here and enjoyed it in America.

Suresh Raina (California Knights captain): We have one more opportunity. Especially when you're playing back-to-back games, not to complain but we should have put more runs on the board. We should have got 15-20 runs more. You just need to be positive. You have to fight for your spot, enjoy the format and not think too much. They (the team) are a very good and positive side so hopefully we'll get through. That's the beauty of T10 - you just need to send in your best and hope it works. You need to keep breathing to make sure you do the right things. That's the way it goes. When you're bowling well with the new ball, the moment you finish the powerplay the pitch gets a little slower. It's not going to go easy - one day you score 168, then it comes down to 120, 110, 100. Let's see in the second game and where we can better our mistakes. Just make sure we have plenty of water and hydration (in the next two hours).

A simply brilliant redemption arc for Richard Levi in the second half of this chase. He was struggling alright but he managed to make up for his sluggish start to put his team into the final with real conviction.

Defending just 96, Peter Siddle and Ben Laughlin began with a couple of tidy overs for the California Knights before Krishmar Santokie castled Tillakaratne Dilshan with a good slower delivery. The asking rate started to rise despite Levi picking up a couple of boundaries as he slowed down thereafter. Devendra Bishoo mixed his pace and lengths to great effect to keep the batters quiet and once Kamran Akmal also departed, the Warriors were in a spot of bother and were playing catch-up.

The DLS par score was something they had to keep an eye on with a dark cloud looming. Skipper Misbah-ul-Haq took on spin with positive intent and middled the ball beautifully. That rubbed off on Levi as he went after Santokie to swing momentum in favor of the Warriors in the seventh over of the innings. The asking rate suddenly dipped below 10 an over and it was the Warriors' game to lose.

Levi just continued to operate in sixth gear and got the job done with Misbah duly doing his bit at his end. Eventually, it was a stroll in the park for the Warriors when they seemed far from eclipsing the target with such ease at one point. And they can now put their feet up for the next 24 hours knowing that they will contest the game that matters the most. Stick around for the presentation...

He still drags his pull past short fine leg who ambles towards the ball and retrieves it although the batters complete a brace.
