Commentary

Well well, this game turning out to be close and quite entertaining all the way through. Qui Vive certainly short of a few runs and if they had them, they could have been on the positive side of the result. Nonetheless, well fought and they should be happy with the performance.

Liege managing to wrap it off before having to take it into the final over. They started well at the top with the openers proving them a good partnership, which may not have been quick enough but it kept them pretty much on oar, and most importantly, helped them save wickets in hand, which came in real handy at the backend, as we did see eventually.

Skipper Umair Butt top scoring with 44 along with vital contributions from Faisal and Forqanullah. It wasn't a daunting target and sensible batting at the top really set the platform for this chase. Qui Vive did well but not being able to pick wickets in the first half of that innings really hurt them. They did go on to get five later on but by then, they simply did not have enough runs on the board to play with.

Right then, first points on the board for Liege and one of the two sides had to get a win today. Disappointing for Qui Vive in the end. That is all we have for this contest but there is more ECS action coming your way, with some high drama clashes on the cards. Qui Vive have fought hard. They haven't given this away easy. The wickets coming but it's all too late. Only if these had come earlier, only IF! Eventually, Liege will survive a few hiccups but they have managed to get past the line. Their first win but what a close contest this has been!
