Commentary

From losing 5 wickets in one over and making a low total to getting the entire team all out with just 2 balls remaining! What a comeback this has been from Gozo and they have one this match by just a hair here from absolutely losing it one sided! If the word intent has a meaning then the Gozo XI have shown that from ball 1 of this innings here. In the first 4 overs it felt like the Strikers were going to win this one comfortably as both the openers were looking sharp but as soon as S.Khatri took the ball in his hands, it was raining wickets! Three wickets in a single over and then the Strikers were losing wickets like there was no tomorrow! A fabulous piece of work from the bowling side as they gave them absolutely no chance to make a comeback from that point on. The Strikers did hit a few big shots which almost got them the win but the last two run outs were no less than a knockout punch for the Strikers as they seal their very first win this tournament and will look to further repeat the same in the second match of the double header.

9.4 Aji Wilson to Jaimon Johnson, OUT! HORRIBLE MIX-UP! And that will be the game! Length delivery wide of off, Johnson reaches out and drags it towards mid-on as Paul tees off more than halfway across the pitch. Johnson is not interested in it though - surely you have to take your chances here? The throw is awry but so far away was Paul that the bowler had a week to collect the ball, run towards the stumps and complete the formalities. Gozo beat Royal Strikers by 8 runs!
