Royal Tigers beat Budaptest Blinders by 9 wickets!
Darshan Sudarshnaiah 37* off 21 | Zeeshan Kukikhel 32 off 23 Maanav Nayak 1/16 (2)
That was a comfortable win for the Royal Tigers who are clicking together just at the right time. Meanwhile, Budapest Blinders have lost their steam just before the business end of the tournament as they face back-to-back defeats. They will have to regroup quickly.
Coming in to chase down a target of 80 runs. The Royal Tigers had a slow start. Their openers took their time to settle and started to blast away post the powerplay overs. Skipper Zeehan lost his wicket as he tried to hit one shot too many. However, Darshan took over from his skipper and tonked the ball around to steer the Royal Tigers across the line with 13 balls to spare.
The Blinders did not have a great total on the board as their batters had an off day. Defending their total, only Maanav was able to get into the wickets as he got rid of the Tigers skipper. However, they didn't have much to play with in the first place.
That will do, the Blinders were a no-show as they have lost both their games today. First against the Cobra CC and now against the Royal Tigers.
7.5 Ibrar Ahmad to Darshan Sudarshnaiah, SIX! GAME, SET AND MATCH! That is that and Blinders get thumped with back to back losses here, they were riding through purple patch but have slumped into two defeats today. Short into the batter, Darshan walks down the track and SMOKES it over deep square-leg for a maximum to seal the deal!
7.4 Ibrar Ahmad to Stan Ahuja, full toss outside the off-stump, Ahuja walks down the track and swatted it down to long-off for just one.
Royal Tigers are just three runs away from winning now!
7.3 Ibrar Ahmad to Stan Ahuja, SIX! That is a huge hit from Ahuja. Back of a length on the leg-stump, Ahuja gets inside the line and whacked it all the way over fine-leg for a maximum.
7.3 Ibrar Ahmad to Darshan Sudarshnaiah, NO-BALL! Length delivery outside the off-stump, Darshan reaches to drive, but takes a healthy edge down to third-man for one. But, Ibrar has overstepped, called a no-ball!
7.2 Ibrar Ahmad to Darshan Sudarshnaiah, length delivery outside the off-stump, Darshan presses forward but leaves that one alone.
7.1 Ibrar Ahmad to Stan Ahuja, length delivery on the stumps, Ahuja gets inside the line and looks to ramp, barely clears the man inside the ring and takes a single.
Ibrar Ahmad left hand fast comes onto bowl next
The wheels are falling for but for the team that's bowling. A catch was dropped in the last over and to make things worse, the fielder makes a wild throw and allows batters to steal an extra run. Royal Tigers are just two big hits away from winning!
