Commentary

This is all we have from the game then as Bidipto and myself (Rishab) sign off for the moment. A thrilling start to Monday and do stay tuned as we have a lot more lined up in store for y'all throughout the day. Do not miss out on some exciting action from around the globe!

Right then! What a start to the tournament we have had here. The finalists of the previous edition going head-to-head and they lived up to the expectations as well with a thrilling contest first up. At the half-way mark, it seemed that 87 runs might not have been enough for the Budapest Blinders but their bowlers responded to the challenge and how! They got off to a brilliant start picking up wickets in the powerplay to put the Tigers on the backfoot.

The Blinders kept picking up wickets all the way through under pressure. Royal Tigers failed to get partnerships going. However, they did get in a couple of good overs at the backend that brought them back into the contest. They took it down to the final over and did have an opportunity to pull of a tight win as well. It wasn't to be for the reigning champions though as they lost way too many wickets all the way through, eventually falling short by 6 runs in the end.

The Budapest Blinders will be pleased with a win like this first up, being tested under pressure and coming out on the right side first up. This will certainly boost their confidence going forward in the tournament. The Royal Tigers will take some positives as they bowled well and despite wickets falling, kept themselves in the hunt till the very end. The reigning champions will be keen to bounce back soon!
