Right so, we've had another great day of cricket here at the TNPL with the double header! The Madurai Panthers notched up an impressive win and opened their account in the points table! For now, it's Soumarya Dutta, taking your leave on behalf of my partner Sooryanarayan Sesha! See you soon!
Hari Nishanth (Siechem Madurai Panthers captain): Happy to be on the winning side. The wicket was good too. Jappy (Gurjapneet) bowled superbly. We need to carry this momentum forward. (On Gurjapneet) He's in good rhythm and he bowls the right areas. We have to talk to him every delivery but he's bowling in good rhythm. He has a good slower one too. I think this team is more balanced than the team I played for last year.
Abhishek Tanwar (Salem Spartans captain): The boys are very upset. I think there was only one team that turned up on the ground and that was Madurai. We played badly - it was reckless cricket. We've not played badly but we're not finishing well with the bat and ball. We're giving away a cluster of wickets. If they want to play a higher level of cricket they have to score in these matches. I don't want to speak today since if I do, they will feel more down. We will have a chat tomorrow or the day after.
Gurjapneet Singh is the Player of the Match for his incredible spell of 3/15. Here's what he has to say: Really happy to come back again (from injury) and bowling well. Really happy for that. As compared to before I'm improving day by day. (Which phase does he look forward to bowling in the most?) I'm okay with any conditions. If my skipper is ready then I'm ready in any conditions. I'm just working on my strengths from before and just improving that. Two points are really important for us. Let's take it forward.
Siechem Madurai Panthers 101/ 3 in 13 overs Sri Abisek S 32*(28) | Sunny Sandhu 1/13 Swapnil Singh 25*(16) | M Ganesh Moorthi 1/21
It took a while for the Panthers to get their first win, but it came in some style today! He have humbled the Spartans and they've done it with 7 wickets and 7 overs to spare! They did loose a couple of early wickets in the run chase but J Kousik and Abisek S steadied the ship after that!
Kousik played a couple of glorious shots to get the scoreboard up and running! He eventually perished attempting to play a sweep shot ! Swapnil Singh joined Abisek at the crease after that and the duo ensured that they got to 99 with plenty of overs to spare and without any further ado!
The Spartans bowlers struggled to keep their lines and lengths right and gave away 15 extras in the defense of just 99! It proved to be really costly for them as they couldn't capitalize on the momentum having picked up two wickets early on! Akash Sumra, G Moorthi and Sandhu, all picked up a wicket apiece!
Overall, it has been brilliant game for the Panthers as they have won this game by a huge margin of 7 wickets and 7 overs to spare! They've got themselves up on the points table and they will be proud of the way their bowlers led the charge today! The Spartans will be disappointed though, as they were completely outplayed and failed to create an impression! They will have to go back to the drawing board and re-build from the scratch!

12.6 Sachin Rathi to Swapnil Singh, SIX! WRAPS IT UP IN STYLE! Drifts it into the slot at the stumps and Swapnil brings out a slog of his own. Gets a good piece of it and sends it soaring a mile back over mid-wicket to draw the curtains down on this one-sided contest. Siechem Madurai Panthers are off the mark with a 7-wicket win and with 7 overs to spare!
12.5 Sachin Rathi to S Sri Abisek, SKIED....AND DROPPED! Oh that's a poetic summary of this contest! Full and tossed up outside the off stump as Abisek reaches forward with a slog sweep. Shanks it a mile across the line as long on runs in, only to make a terrible mess of a straightforward catch!
12.4 Sachin Rathi to S Sri Abisek, good length delivery just outside the off stump. Turns in as Abisek hangs back to keep it out with a punch
12.3 Sachin Rathi to Swapnil Singh, good length delivery around the off stump. Swapnil shuffles across and punches it on the up to long on as he crosses over
12.2 Sachin Rathi to Swapnil Singh, full and drifting in outside the off stump as Swapnil steps out attempting a swing. Hits the inside edge and rolls down to long leg for a couple of runs
12.1 Sachin Rathi to Swapnil Singh, back of a length delivery on middle stump. Swapnil backs away and flat-bats it along extra cover before the sweeper flings himself onto it and keeps it down to two
The Panthers are doing it easily at the moment and seems like that they are in a bit of a hurry at the moment to win this game! It's just a moment of time before this game ends! This will be a huge win for the Panthers!
