That was an exceptional run chase from the Kings as they made light work of the victory target of 86 as they won the match by 9 wickets in the penultimate over. Aravind Akash and Sunil Bishnoi batted brilliantly and stitched together a 66-run opening stand to almost kill the game then and there.

Nadeem Khan then came with a clear intent and smashed a couple of sixes to seal the deal for the Kings. A comfortable victory by 9 wickets with 4 deliveries to spare.Bishnoi and Akash took their time initially but kept finding the boundaries whenever the ball was in their radar.

They kept nudging it around for singles and doubles and never really allowed the required rate to cree up. Rishi Raut bowled a superb over in the powerplay but it was the plan of the two openers to play out the potential threat. Sunil Bishnoi was eventually dismissed on 25 off 16 deliveries but by then the match was well within their grasp.

Akash struck a lusty blow down the ground and eventually it was Nadeem who finished the match off in style. Earlier in the day, it was a brilliant effort with the ball from the Kings which restricted the Smashers to a below-par score of 85. It was always going to be a substandard score and it turned out in that fashion.
